If you have been to the brewery lately, you may have noticed that things are a little chaotic. We are going through some major construction on the area that was once called “The Singapore Room.”

Pictured above is the Singapore Room as you probably last saw it, which is much different than it is today, and WAY different than it is going to be.

We are beyond happy to share the news that we are constructing a secondary tap room, which is called “The Barrel Room.” The construction includes a few very important different aspects:

  1. 1/3 of this old banquet hall has been transformed into a cooler that will be used strictly for storing beer aging wood barrels. This has been done to increase our Barrel Aging Program, and we are very excited about the possibilities this opens up for our Barrel Aged Beers. The new cooler will be able to hold approximately 320 barrels at a time, which more than triples our previous barrel capacity. The barrel cooler also has large windows so you can see what’s going on in the cooler while you are in the tap room.
  2. The Barrel Room. This is our secondary tap room. We will have an additional 15 taps in this room, many of these offerings will be Barrel Aged Beers or specialties. We will also carry our staples, so you can always have your favorite. While we won’t serve our full food menu in this room, we will have a delightful selection of munchies for you to choose from while you enjoy your beer. The seating capacity of the new tap room will be approximately 65 people. Our shuffleboard table will be moved into this room, along with our dart boards. In addition, we will have some fun new games for you, including bumper pool, pinball and a variety of others. You can use this area while you are waiting for a table to dine in the pub, or you can just come back and enjoy a beer and a snack while you play a of couple games with your friends.
  3. The changes aren’t just in the Barrel Room though, things will be changing up in the Pub too. We will be adding in a retail store in the front, so you can easily snag some SBC merch to bring home. We have recently installed a new, lightening fast Point of Sale system for the servers too.
  4. We’ll also be doing some awesome stuff for us internally, like adding new offices, a conference room and staff lounge, but we won’t bore you with the details on that.

While the construction is going quickly, it doesn’t happen overnight. We are expecting the construction to be complete sometime this summer. We will keep everyone in the loop as it’s drawing near. We will certainly be having a Grand Opening party, and we would love for you all to come drink Barrel Aged beer with us in the Barrel Room.

You might be wondering what this means for our Barrel Aged Bootleg Bash. It means that the next time we are able to have it, it’s going to be bigger, better and more delicious than ever. However, it might also be a little while. While this is an awesome thing for our Barrel Program, it also set us back a little bit on having beer in barrels. Once the cooler is completely constructed, we will be filling it with barrels of a variety of different beers. This means an increase in our Barrel Aged beer distribution, an increase in Barrel Aged beers available at the brewery and more options from SBC.

Why are we doing all this? Because our #1 priority is to provide our fans with the best quality beer.
