Favorite beer style: Well balanced IPAs, and almost anything cask conditioned.
First beer experience: My 2 top personal beer awakenings were tasting my first cask ale in English pubs in 1993, and discovering IPA via Bell’s Two Hearted at Clementine’s in South Haven in 2006.
How did you end up at SBC?: A long and winding story. But the short version goes back to 2007 working on design/development of the pub with Barry and Kathy Johnson, then direct involvement, and helping get the business open for operation in our current location in 2008.
When you started at SBC: May 2008
Favorite part of working for a brewery: Corny, but probably a tie between the friendships made among colleagues/patrons, and the challenges and joys of being involved in the craft beer industry.
Favorite activity: All things Irish. Playing Irish music, traveling, concerts, golf, skiing, kayaking, beer festivals, Purdue sports, non-fiction movies (with actual people and real stories).
Favorite location ever visited: Gougane Barra Forest Park in West Cork, Ireland.
