World Water Day

Today, March 22nd, is World Water Day. In honor of the holiday, we got together with our friends at the Outdoor Discovery Center of Holland, MI to learn some easy ways that everyone can help keep our fresh water fresh.

Here’s a recap of Dan’s tips:

  1. Use a little less water. Water your lawn a little less often, take shorter showers and even just turn off the water while you’re brushing your teeth.
  2. Mimic natural processes as much as possible. Find the ways that water is leaving your property and keep it clean. You can also build a rain garden, which can help clean the water before it exits your property.
  3. Be conscious about the kinds of plants that are around your house. Figure out what plants/grasses are native to your area and plant them in your yard. These plants that are natural for the soil will help the water get back into the ground easier.

It doesn’t take much to help out your local water sources today and every day. As we always say, without clean water, we can’t make great beer.
